Name Changes!!!!
Students, Please make sure the name that appears on Aeries is your legal name. It is crucial that the names match exactly. If they do not, you may experience issues when coming across employment (graduation verification), when applying for Financial Aid during your senior year, filling out college applications and for graduation (diplomas/transcripts). If your name does NOT appear the same on Aeries as your birth certificate/legal documents, please stop by the registration office and see Ms. Riggin with the proper documentation (copy of birth certificate or legal name change documents). Student's who have not done so by March 1st will be subjected to keep the name they have on Aeries on their diploma. Keep in mind, once students graduate, name changes will no longer be accessible. We encourage all students to check their Aeries and if changes are needed please do so IMMEDIATELY.

Letters of Recommendation

The student reflection survey is important for staff member writing your letter to have as it provides more context to your life as it pertains to the world outside of school. Often times educators know you well as a student, but are limited only to that context. Understanding your life outside of school helps provide more context for the staff member writing your recommendation letter. Complete this survey to the best of your ability and either EMAIL or provide a paper copy at the time of making your LOR request. Don't feel obligated to answer every question and make no judgment about yourself if you are finding it difficult to address some or all the questions.
These forms must be completed when requesting a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from a staff member (including your counselor). Remember that most private colleges will require one or two letters of recommendation from a teacher or person familiar with you (check what the college specifically requests). Typically the college will always require a LOR from your counselor (Mr. Gompert). Make sure to give both your counselor and teachers at least 2 weeks notice in writing your letters. DO NOT INCLUDE HOLIDAYS. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that teachers and counselors are meeting deadlines, so gentle reminders are appropriate. If ever in doubt of the procedures, please see Mrs. Onopa and he will be more than happy to help you. Good luck!
