Identification Card Policy
All students MUST carry their current student identification cards with them at all times.
Student Identification Cards will be provided to every student during registration. Students who do not receive their ID card during registration will be responsible for getting their ID card as soon as possible. EVERY STUDENT MUST HAVE A STUDENT ID IN THEIR POSESSION AT SCHOOL AND AT ALL SCHOOL EVENTS. Just as a driver’s license authorizes driving a vehicle, a student ID card authorizes a student to be on campus.
School I.D. cards are school property. These cards are an essential component of school safety and must not be defaced, tagged, altered or covered with “stickers.”
Lost, stolen, altered, damaged, or defaced ID cards must be replaced IMMEDIATELY through the ASB office. Cost for replacement is $5.00.
We try very hard to be familiar with all our students; however, it is impossible for every staff member to know each of our 2600+ students. Therefore, it is critical that we are able to identify everyone on our campus. Identification of students is a safety issue and we will not compromise when it comes to the safety of students. ID cards help us identify students as well as trespassers.
In addition, identification cards are needed when purchasing dance tickets, to attend school related activities, and for disciplinary situations and medical emergencies. I.D. cards are also required when students serve detention, or On Campus Suspension. Students without ID cards will be issued a detention.
In situations where a student is being defiant, uncooperative, belligerent OR disrespectful, the student will be asked to produce his or her I.D. card. If the student cannot prove his or her identity, he or she will be escorted to the office and detained until being identified.
STUDENTS, WHO REFUSE TO SHOW ID, WILL BE SUSPENDED.
