Weapons and Dangerous Objects Policy

DO NOT BRING THEM TO SCHOOL

It is our intent to make Katella High School a safe place for everyone.  Our policies are those of the Anaheim Union High School District as set forth by the Board of Trustees.  We will enforce the rules and laws regarding weapons and dangerous items at school.

Weapons include: Real or fake knives of any shape or size, real or fake guns, brass knuckles and similar type items or any other dangerous objects.

If you have to ask yourself, “Should I take this to school?” The answer is “NO”.

Bringing weapons or dangerous objects to school OR holding them for someone will result in a 5 day suspension, transfer to another school, arrest and possible EXPULSION from the district. This includes “Look-alike” items.

Jokes and threats about these things at school will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion and arrest.

Do not bring weapons or dangerous objects to school or hold them for people who do!!!

Fighting Policy

Any mutual aggressive contact is considered fighting, no matter who initiates it.   The consequence for a first fight is a 3-day suspension.  A second fight may result in a 5-day suspension and transfer to another school.   Students who gather to witness a fight, or who instigate a fight are also subject to suspension.  Students are expected to work out conflicts in a mature manner and report any suspicion of an impending fight to a teacher or administrator.   If a student feels he/she is being harassed, the student should immediately report it to their assistant principal.

Students should be reminded that fights on the way to and from school will be treated the same as fights on campus.
